How To Live & Die In Your Mind

How To Live & Die In Your Mind

‘Your mind is either the place of liberation or execution.’

The mind is where battles are either lost or won.

Talent is not necessarily the key to winning. Belief has a greater part to play in any victory celebrations.

How To Live & Die In Your Mind

So how can you tame the mind to be a support for your success and the driving force behind every winning stroke – day in, day out?

The first thing we need to do is to at least understand the power that the mind plays in the path that we will find ourselves walking throughout our lifetime.

There are two places where our mind can reside. Let me share them with you.

  1. The Place Of Execution

The firing squad assigned to complete your demise is in most cases your fifth column.

What is a fifth column?

A fifth column is where the enemy resides within. Many battles are lost not from an onslaught from without, but rather through the process of weakening the defense from within.

And the bullets that can actually destroy your life originate in your very own mouth.

Your mouth can in fact be your firing squad, and the bullets that will pierce the very armor of your life are the words that pass from it.

Here are just some of the bullets that with repetitive use, like the spray of a machine gun, can shoot holes in everything that you hold dear.

Here are just a few:

  • I can’t
  • I’ll never
  • I won’t
  • I’m not smart enough
  • If only
  • It’s impossible
  • I don’t have enough money
  • I’m too old
  • Not bad…
  • I’m too young…and the list goes on.

Death is found within each and every one of those words – particularly if they are allowed to run rampant throughout your life and pass your lips on a daily basis.

The build-up of death found within these words will ultimately destroy the very life that has uttered them.

  1. The Place Of Liberation

The very tool that on one hand can destroy a life is the very same one that can build a successful life.

Here are the words that will build you rather than destroy you.

  • I can
  • I will
  • I’ll always
  • I’m smart enough
  • I will learn
  • It’s possible
  • I will find a way
  • I’m exactly the right age
  • I will find smarter people than I, and through association will take notes furiously and be educated
  • There is always a way and I will find it

When you make it your practice – no matter what your mind is telling you – to shoot these words from your mouth (the voices in your head that are telling you that you will never win) will diminish and be replaced by the words that you have chosen – liberating words – to speak out in defiance of the so-called facts.

As one successful businessman once said – ‘when you have a dream(and speak the dream) the facts don’t count’.

  1. Choose Your Place

So there you have it. Now you have a choice.

What words are you going to allow to flow from your lips and influence your mind?

The ammunition you choose will not only determine your day, but will greatly define your destiny.

Weapons used wisely are powerful in defense. However, weapons used unwisely are powerful in destruction.

Death and life are in the power of your tongue, so my prayer for you is that you choose life.

How are you going to apply this teaching to your ‘language’ life today?
