10 Life Changing Thoughts To Help You Never Run Out Of Gas

change your thoughts and change your world

Well here are 10 powerful thoughts that will charge your flat batteries.

That’s often all it takes, and is why I continually immerse myself in all things motivational and inspirational. Just as I take my care regularly to fill up with gas, so too would you and I when it comes to our personal motivation.

Ever been stalled? Your life that is. Run out of gas?

You can’t keep giving out if you never take in.

So plug in your battery to this motivational memo and get ignited and sparked to not only change your life for the better, but to also change those whom you are going to come into contact today.

‘Best friends are those who bring out the best that’s in me.’

To seek a friend, first become a friend. Have no agenda except that you will be the best friend that they have ever had. But when you make a friend and begin to develop a relationship with that person, don’t necessarily look for someone who will agree with you on every point. Find someone who will challenge you to be the very best that you can be: one who speaks honestly and openly. Sometimes abrasive, but yet balancing that abrasiveness with comments that are as smooth as silk. Herein lies a true and faithful friend until the end.

‘Always praise someone in public. But if you have to correct, then do it in private.(1)’

Humiliation of another human being would have to be the lowest form of criticism ever forced upon another. Never do it. For as the old saying states, ‘Do unto others as you would have them do unto you’. This is truly the Golden Rule for all interpersonal relationships. However, there will still be times, especially if you are in a position of leadership, where you are going to have to courageously address certain issues. When you do so, do it with the grace of an ambassador and with the humility of a king.

’If I have to deal with a negative, I will balance it with a double dose of positive.’

In order to create a positive environment, in both your home and your workplace, you must remember that it takes a larger dose of positive to outweigh the mounds of negative that have a habit of landing on your doorstep, especially when you least expect it. Make it your mission to bring joy to your relationships. Be happy. Smile a lot. Don’t repeat gossip and don’t rehearse rumors. Think best of others. Put others first in all your affairs and always look for an opportunity to serve others. It is within this positive framework that you will build an extraordinary life.

’Time used unwisely and spent without thought will make you a pauper and leave you with naught. But time that’s well spent, will stitch upon stitch weave memories and dreams that will make your life rich.’

Time is money, as they say. And yet many whittle away the hours without thinking of the value that has been cast away with every second. This does not mean that we should work each and every hour of the day. There needs to be an investment of time in leisure, fitness, relationships, further education and at times in doing absolutely nothing. Learn to say ‘no’ to the good in order to say ‘yes’ to the best(2). Invest in what is best for you and your life. Take time to smell the roses at times. When you work, work with all your heart and when you play, play with all your soul.

’My best friends are found when I show myself friendly.’

The more you give, the more you will receive in return. It’s a powerful law that can bring into your life some wonderful people and some unforgettable experiences. Be the first to reach out your hand. Be the first to introduce yourself by name and to ask for the name of the person you are talking to. Make it a point to remember their name and repeat it a number of times, even in your first conversation. By doing this, you will stand out in the crowd and will always know the richness of friendship in its many and varied forms. By being friendly, and by reaching out to others, you will never be alone.

’To quit doing that which is good, in order to pursue that which is best, is not quitting at all.’

I can’t find the word ‘quit’ in my ‘success’ dictionary. However, if I discover that something is not working effectively in my life, and after I’m convinced that the roadblock is secure, I’m never afraid to discard it. Then it’s time to swiftly pick up the baton that will carry me on to victory. In this day and age of incredible change we must remain fluid, ever ready to move and ever flexible. Our principles and life goals must remain solidly planted in rock, yet the road we travel on, to fulfill these and reach them, is to be set in sand. Don’t hang on to ‘good’ if ‘best’ is knocking at your door.

’It is far better to be prepared than it is to be repaired.’

Why wait for trouble to land on your doorstep? Most trouble can be avoided by simply making careful preparation. Deal before you’re dealt with. Count the cost before you set out on any venture and it will save you a lot of heartache. Spend as much time in preparation and research as you do performing the task. A building is only as sturdy as the foundation is strong. The taller the building, the deeper the foundation. The greater the success, the greater the preparation. Perfect practice will lead to perfect performance, and those who plan will be those who stand.

’I will feed on the ‘good stuff’ now, because by doing so I will be more than ready to deal with the ‘bad stuff’ when it happens.’

By living in this world, there is a probability that we at some point are going to be confronted with ‘bad stuff’. The way we handle this will be greatly determined by the amount of time and effort we have invested in getting the ‘good stuff’ into our hearts and minds. Life is a seasonal affair, and it is what we do in the springtime of our lives that will determine how we fare in the wintertime. Strengthen yourself when the weather is fare and you will stand strong when the storms arrive. You will then be able to set your sails correctly and ride with the winds towards your life’s dreams.

’People with purpose are powerhouses with possibility.’

Lives lived with purpose are unstoppable, unconquerable and invincible. That is why it is so important to discover your purpose; the reason you inhabit space on planet earth. When you have found your purpose you will wake up in the morning with power and a willingness to do what it takes to reach your full potential. Purpose is the spark that will charge your batteries and drive you further than you could have ever imagined. Transform your thinking by empowering your mind with strong thoughts, success imaginations and goal-centered vision. Nothing is impossible to those who believe.

’If I don’t use it, then I’ll lose it.’

Limbs encased in plaster, and then suddenly released from their dark enclosure, need a lot of exercise before they can get back into normal operation. So too are your talents, your mind and your imagination, if you, for some reason, have neglected them. Many dreams have passed on with their owners to the grave through lack of use, but yet you can breathe fresh life into yours by rehearsing them in your mind and by living them out in your daily affairs. Once you have identified your strengths, then strengthen them through consistent use. By doing this you will not lose. You will win.
