How To Obliterate Your Lack-Lustred Past & Turbo-Charge Your Brilliant Future

There are those lack lustre parts of our past that we need to leave behind if we are to ever successfully move forward in the direction of our brilliant future

‘Why is a question of yesterday. How is a question of tomorrow.’ Mark Rolton

Now before you raise the question – please understand that I couldn’t put every thing I mean into the title because it would be far too long. Of course there are things in our past that we don’t want to destroy. There are many fond memories, and there are many things that form the foundations of our life today. And that makes up our past.

How To Obliterate Your Lack-Lustred Past & Turbo-Charge Your Brilliant Future

But let’s be honest. There are those lack lustre parts of our past that we need to leave behind if we are to ever successfully move forward in the direction of our brilliant future.

Stuff Happens

Have people let you down? Have you missed the golden opportunity? Has the other person been chosen for the position over you?

I remember years ago meeting a man who had a dream of becoming a professional golfer. He lived and breathed it, but just didn’t have the skill set to make the professional cut. Years later he was a depressed shell of a man who always felt that he had been cast aside. He was an absolute misery to be around. He was a downtrodden, lack lustred crust of a human being as he worked at a golf course in a job that he felt was far below his chosen desire. His whole demeanour represented a life that kept asking why, and he could never seem to see beyond that question to at some point ask how.

The facts are that if we hang around blaming the world or circumstances for holding us back from our perfect life, then all we will end up being is miserable. And in the process we will make all those around us miserable too.

Stop Asking Why

In many cases there is no answer to your questions why…

  • Why did it happen to me?
  • Why did they pick him?
  • Why was I born on the wrong side of the tracks?
  • Why do I have limited education?
  • Why do I have no money?
  • Why do they get all the breaks?
  • Why did they win the lotto?
  • Why, why, why, why, why……whine, whine, whine, whine!

Sorry – but that’s what why ends up sounding like after a while – a horrible whine.

Change Your Why To A How

I remember years ago when I had moved my family to a new city. I started a business, yet because I realised that it wasn’t really what I wanted to do, I shut it down. That decision put my family into a downward spiral of hardship.

Things got so bad that I thought I would have to leave that city and even my family to get a job. But something deep down inside of me prompted by the book Acres Of Diamonds, told me that I needed to stay in that city and find a way to succeed right where I was.

The end result of that decision…..asking how rather than why….was the creation of a web design company that I owned and operated for seven years before selling it for a profit. Now please understand that even after those seven years I was still neither a web designer nor a web technician. I hired people with those skills and created a successful business.

This all resulted from the fact that I stopped asking the why question and replaced it with the how question.

By asking the question how, I ended up attending an Internet Marketing Seminar which required of me to empty my bank account. It was a calculated risk, but at that seminar three questions were posed that I answered once I started my web design business. The end result was that I started that business in an area that I had no expertise, yet had a dream and a belief that I could make it happen and then followed through with successful action.

So my advice to you is this: stop asking why by starting to ask how.

It is my personal experience that when you change the question, the opportunities start to present themselves that will require of you to apply action, and yet when you step out in faith and apply that action it isn’t long before wonderful opportunities arise and life takes an amazing turn for the better.

Ask HOW!
